Diorshow Iconic Mascara 090 Review!

Hey guys, just a quick review on a mascara I've been trying....it's the Diorshow Iconic mascara in 090 Black.

So I don't usually want to pay a lot for a mascara, but recently I've been wanting something that would give a false lash effect without the false lashes (I like wearing them, but generally only on nights out and not during the day time). Where I work, we sell Dior products, and I recently helped someone with a mascara, and after looking at reviews online, I wanted to try it for myself :)

The brush is exactly what I like about a mascara brush, it's plastic (not bristles, however my previous post concluded that I like the bristles on the Benefit Bad Gal!)
The actual parts which apply the mascara are evenly spaced, so that when you're applying it, no lash is left out (much like the effect you would get when using a four or 5 blade razor.....weird comparison I know... haha but it really does create a nice even look!

Just one to two coats of this mascara can create a really nice look, and a few more and you're set for a more dramatic look It only starts to clump after about 4 coats, but if I wanted that much of a dramatic look then I would probably use false lashes too to prevent the clumping look! Here's a pic of what it can look like, this is with about 2 coats on...... (apologies for the crappy quality!)

Overall I really like this mascara, I don't know whether I will definitely repurchase because it is expensive, it retails at around £20-£25 depending where you buy it (luckily I got staff discount so that helped). But yeah, it's just really easy to create a nice semi-dramatic look for the day with minimal effort really, you don't have to stand there for ages trying to build it up, it's pretty instant, and as I said, with a few more coats you can create a dramatic look too.

Hope this review has been helpful to you, feel free to leave me a comment below :) Lucy xxx

Rimmel volume flash scandal eyes mascara review

Rimmel Volume Flash Scandal Eyes Mascara 001
'no lash can escape - Scandalous volume - no clumps!'

I was in need of a new mascara, and I had previously been using 17 Falsifeye mascara and found it to be really good! I originally bought it because it came with a free Gel Eyeliner (which is really good!) but the brush it comes with is pretty awful, so I had to use one out of my E.L.F Professional Brush Set (£5 - and well worth it!) which worked really well!

Anyway I looked for the 17 mascara again but it had gone up in price, so I looked at the Rimmel stand and saw this beauty! It's very in your face, but I love the packaging!

So I wanted something to thicken up my lashes, they're already naturally long, so I wanted a fuller 'black' look which I can build up especially for nights out (don't really like wearing fake lashes).
Plenty of product comes out on the brush, so I don't have to 'pump' it which you're not supposed to do as it created are pockets in the mascara (therefore drying it out).

It doesn't separate the lashes much so it might be a good idea to comb the lashes through before hand with an eyelash brush (you get one in the E.L.F brush kit) however it does create a fuller look which I was after! (apologies its a crap picture, I can't get the hang of my front facing camera on the iPhone!) but it gives you some idea of the effect it gives :)

Thanks for reading!

Miss Sporty Studio Lash Mascara review!

“Instant Volume – Lash Volumising eye opening mascara. Ultimate lash volumising and sculpting mascara with precise applicator. Brings body to your lashes – from instant volume to a dramatic eye look. Lashes are super thick, yet perfectly separated and ultimately lifted. Zero clumps. Smudge Proof. Opthalmologically Testd”

This mascara is GREAT! I can’t say this enough! If you want lengthening and volumising in one mascara, then you should definitely give this a go! Plus it's CHEAP! Around £3.29

How did I find it?
I’m fortunate enough to have quite long lashes, which people have commented on in the past! I just needed to find a mascara that would volumise and curve to make my eyes stand out (I don’t like using heavy eye shadow you see). In the past, I have bought really cheap mascaras, and ended up going over the top applying it, so it looked really thick & clumpy (what was I thinking?!).

I actually found Miss Sporty’s Lash Curve first of all, when I was low on money one month, and looking for a cheap mascara. This mascara is also great (and only £2.99 at the time!) it shapes the lashes without the need for a lash curler (I really hate these…). I then bought Volume XXL, which didn’t give me as much volume as I’d have liked.

My friend @jesswillx then suggested I try Studio Lash! It’s the best mascara in this price range out there. I can’t believe it’s so good, and only £3.29! You can end up paying £10+ for a decent mascara, and this works just as well in my opinion! This mascara volumises my lashes, making a more dramatic look for nights out, and a wide eyed look for the day time. It also curves the lashes much like the Lash Curve!

Using Studio Lash Mascara

  • always apply to clean lashes for the best result
  • use one coat for wide eyed daytime looks
  • use a few coats for a dramatic night time look
  • zig zag motion on additional coats helps to prevent clumping
  • remember to take your eye make up off before bed (I use Boots Cucumber eye make up remover, really freshens up the eye area) I do this before my 3-Step :)
You can get Miss Sporty products from Superdrug and Boots in the UK.
If you are from outside the UK, Fragrance Direct let's you pay in GBP, USD & the Euro so it's worth checking out their Miss Sporty range http://bit.ly/eapfc6
